Registration procedure

The following works, provided they comply with statutory requirements, must be reported to the relevant authority but do not require planning permission:

  • Antennas
  • Thermal insulation inside the building
  • Alterations to the natural ground surface
  • Solar panels on gables
  • Solar panels on roofs
  • Installation of an air-to-air or air-to-water heat pump
  • Renovation and replacement of heating systems
  • Connection to a district heating scheme

Notifications to the building authority. The start and completion of works must be reported to the local authority’s building department
